The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve awarded Eden Hospice at Portland and Eden Home Health of Clark County on November 30, 2023 for their services provided to Veterans in the community. Scott Witt and Monica Ocampo from ESGR presented the Statement of Support to the clinicians and leaders of both agencies.  Julie Sheldon, Executive Director of Eden Hospice, and Nicole May, Executive Director of Eden Home Health, accepted and signed the award and Statement of Support.

“We are so privileged to see and care for the Veterans of our community every day,” said Nicole May. “We are humbled by this honor.”

The Statement of Support Program serves as the foundation of ESGR’s initiatives to secure ongoing employer backing for the Guard and Reserve. This program aims to enhance employer support by urging them to champion and endorse their employee’s’ involvement in the military. The backing of employers plays a vital role in sustaining the strength and preparedness of the Nation’s Guard and Reserve Units.

By accepting and signing the Statement of Support, Eden Hospice at Portland and Eden Home Health of Clark County

  • fully recognizes, honors, and complies with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.
  • provides their managers and supervisors with the tools they need to effectively manage employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
  • appreciates the values, leadership, and unique skills Service members bring to the workforce and will encourage opportunities to hire Guardsmen, Reservists, and Veterans.
  • will continually recognize and support this country’s Service members and their families, in peace, in crises, and in war.
