Eden Hospice understands that the experience of someone diagnosed with end-stage cardiac disease is very different than that of someone with cancer or pulmonary disease. That’s why we offer symptom management to control symptoms and promote comfort. No matter what the disease or diagnosis, we believe in improving the quality of life when quantity is limited.
Our Medical Directors focus on symptom management and will work with your primary doctors to order appropriate medications. Our philosophy embraces the idea of relieving your pain and other symptoms so that you are in control of your own comfort. Our goal is to make you or your loved one as comfortable as possible.
Eden Hospice will manage the ordering and delivery process of the necessary equipment.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT CAN:
- Improve Mobility
- Make breathing easier
- Improve your quality of sleep and help reduce pain
EDEN HOSPICE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE SUPPLIES AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT RELATED TO THE HOSPICE DIAGNOSIS, INCLUDING:
- Respiratory equipment including oxygen and CPAP, BIPAP and nebulizers
- Walkers
- Crutches
- Wheelchairs
- Bathroom and shower aids
- Hospital beds
Respite care is provided to you when your family/caregivers need time away. Patients are placed in a contracted facility for a length of time in accordance with plan benefits (typically up to 5 days). The contracted facility will provide care with the hospice interdisciplinary members to continue making visits and maintain emergency/crisis availability.
RESPITE CARE FOR YOUR CAREGIVER MAY HELP PREVENT:
- Burn-out
- Depression
- Stress, Illness, and Reduced Immunity due to Lack of Sleep
Bereavement care is an essential component of hospice care that includes anticipating grief reactions and providing ongoing support for the bereaved for a year or more after your loved one has passed.
Grieving and mourning are normal. You may experience grief as a mental, physical, social, or emotional reaction. Mental reactions can include anger, guilt, anxiety, sadness, and despair. Physical reactions can include sleeping problems, changes in appetite, physical problems, or illness. At Eden Hospice, we are committed to providing information, counseling, and resources for any reaction you may experience.
Each of us takes their own journey through grief and healing. Allow yourself to open up to the idea that not every person experiences and deals with the loss of a loved one in the same way. As there are many cultural and or religious practices supported in communities to help those facing loss, understand that there is no “one way” or “one plan” that can work for everybody.
HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT PROGRAMS FOCUS ON:
- Helping family members understand and move forward in the grief process by enabling their expression of thoughts and feelings and helping them identify or develop healthy coping strategies.
- Helping families problem-solve around adjustment issues.
- Providing guidance about decision-making.
- Addressing social and spiritual concerns.
- Assisting survivors to adapt to an environment without the deceased.
RESPITE CARE FOR YOUR CAREGIVER MAY HELP PREVENT:
- Burn-out
- Depression
- Stress, Illness, and Reduced Immunity due to Lack of Sleep
WHAT THEY SAY...
What are our patients are saying about us?
My husband was bed redden for a time after an accident. We were so blessed to find Eden Health Care. Derrick was here immediately after the call to set us up with home health and physical therapy. He was so kind and supportive. Vance came the next day to evaluate for physical therapy. Greg came twice weekly for PT. They were both wonderful to help him. They knew just what he needed with all their experience and knowledge. Anthony and Ashley were our home helpers and were excellent. They were so kind and encouraging to him and taught me so much about caring for him. I don't know what I would have done without all of them. We could not have found better care. I will definitely use Eden again if the need arises. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of help.
I had been on the phone for hours when I called Eden Health and talked to Derrick. He was amazing, spoke highly of his staff, and was able to see my dad the next morning to evaluate and start home health and personal care! When he arrived, he helped my father immediately to get out of a precarious situation and I was very grateful for everything he was able to do to help get care started so quickly! Thank you, Derrick and Eden Health!
Greg and Vance were awesome in every way for the 2 weeks! Excellent physical therapist!
Derrikk and his staff at Eden are absolutely wonderful! I needed some extra help with my mom while I was traveling, and Eden was exactly the right fit. The staff are professional, friendly and comforting. Both my mom and I were very pleased! Highly recommend!
My mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and needed regular care, mostly helping with laundry, light housekeeping, and taking her to get groceries. Derrikk Nelson and his team took excellent care of my mother, and deserve more than just the five stars available. I would recommend them to anyone.
Greg, my physical therapist, was the absolute best. Very informative, understanding, funny, caring, compassionate, 10/10 recommend! Vance is also very good at his job and answered every question I had. Also very nice and compassionate, etc.
My mom has been cared for by Eden Hospice for the last 9 months, and I've been very grateful for their service. Everyone who has worked with here have been very kind and helpful, and has given her very good care. Thanks Eden!
We contacted Eden after my wife Bari had a stroke in August, and after being released from the hospital. The primary focus was rehab and Brooke was a wonderful physical therapist, smart and motivated. Jason was the occupational therapist and was great as well. Highly recommended.
I was very lucky to pick Eden Home Health as my provider. They have helped me get thru some very tough times with some serious health issues. I have had the pleasure of working with Boss Debbie, John, Heather, Little Debbie, Greg, Nicole and Sara. They have been wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Eden Home Health to anyone that needs home health services.
